As tbs wise up, so your remote will have to adapt to cope, particularly if qwerty keyboard is needed for going online. of course, touchscreen is the only way to maintain a convenient palm-sized form-factor, so expect more companies to follow Samsung's lead with its touchscreen remote. available as standard with the 9000 series TV, it has a tactile touch interface, plus two-way Wi-Fi, so you can stream video content from the TV into the handset or easily interact with its fitted online services.
Samsung's status as a major mobile manufacturer has made devising a remote this advanced easier than it would be for, say,Philips. for that reason, expect the arrival of a smartphone app that does much of what this remote can offer (and doubtless more besides), but for multiple brands and devices.
